Propposed Flag Prototypes

Here we have the various prototypes put out so far in one place. Remember, some of this could be mixed and matched (for instance, darker outlined swords as seen on the red flag, could be put on a blue background in place of the lightly outlined swords on the blue) Please review, and if your Eiterbian, put in your two cents. Remember, it should look cool, but also symbolise our Great Empire. Explanations of the emblems can be found elsewhere on this blog.

It has been suggested that the hockey sticks be replaced with a fairy tale book. Of course, Upper Mattia could be represented by a raccoon, Slabia by a hell hound run through with a sword, and Uper Matia by...well, maybe an M. But that would be getting VERY VERY crowded, esp. if everyone is represented in a an equal size, which would be proper (IMO) and wouldn't work so well.

Time line of the Empire

BFT 1400 Mikalian People arive in the ancient Eiterbien homeland

BFT 1460 (Ish) Isacadian, Ritzian, Raugustian, Dustinian, Malinian People Gather in the ancient homeland of Eiterbie

BFT 1475 The First dynasty begins under the Ritzian people

BFT 1150 The great rebellion. During this time the Dustinian people make a claim to the Throne. During this time the great masacre occurs, during which time the Mikalian, the Malian and the Dustinian peoples are nearly wiped out. The Dustinian People are driven into the Forests, however Emigrate with the other tribes. The Mikalian and Malian people chose to remain in what is left of their homeland. The Mikalian and Malian peoples remained officially on the side of the Emperor, however did little to aid the War. In 1046 they launched a 6 month campaign against the Dustinian peoples, that both sides where nearly completely wiped-out. The Raugusian peoples flip flopped a lot and generally stayed out of it unless attacked, and even then usually stayed neutral.

BFT 1042 The End of the first dynasty, with the sacrifice of the Emporer and the Royal Guard to safeguard the Great Exit at St Peter‘s (Northern or Southers) pass. It is here that the Last Ritzian Emperor sees a vision of ST Peter’s sword, and takes it up to defeat the enemy, dying in the process with his Royal Guard. It is at this time that most of the remaining Mikalian and Malian tribes are lost. The Last daughter of the Ritzian peoples is rescued by the Kings Advisor, a Isacadian, marries him, thus preserving the government.

BFT 1040 The beginning of the Second dynasty, and the settling of the new homeland. Here the Isacadians rule a now divided Empire over the Ritzian, Raugustian, and Isacadian people, though they enjoy good relationships with the other tribes. Here the Northern Matian and the Southern Matian Peoples join the Eiterbien nation. However there is frequent refusal to acknowledge the Imperial rule. Still relationships despite some skirmishes, remain cordial.

BFT 695 The Empire for all purposes ceases to exist, though the Empire still bears its name. The emperors still rule, but in name only. Another Isacadian, becomes the Master of the Imperial horse (careleader), a title, that for all sakes and purposes gives him rule over all the Eiterbien Empire. Though only the Isacadian, Raugustian and Ritzian people officially aknowledge the Emporer,

BFT 500 the Slabian Tribe joins the ‘Empire’

BFT 300 all Tribes rule themselves. No central authority

BFT 15 The Isacadian tribe takes in the nomadic Tribe of the Tashians

0 T The triumvirate is founded, consisting of the Leaders of the Ritzian, Isacadian, and the Dustinian peoples.

2 T The Ritzian peoples take in the nomadic tribe of the Spencians

The High Tower On the Northern Front

The High Tower On the Northern Front

The high guard

The Highguard is the Traditional guard of the Watch Towers of the Empire. Firing from two lines of crossbowmen, and with a reload time of under 12 seconds (due to top-secret machinery), the Highguard is capable of laying down a withering- cover of rapid-succession fire, daunting all but the most determined assault. Each watch tower is traditionally manned by a score of well trained Highguards.

Royal Wedding II - The minister strikes back

On May 19th 2007 His Royal Majesty, King of Ritzistan, married her Royal lovelieness princess Debra, of the Spencer tribe.

Ritzistanian Overview of the tribes

Mikalian Tribe- Present in the ancient Homeland before any of the other tribes, the Mikalians annoyed their neighbours by walking over their field at inopportune times, and being a general nuisance. They preferred to do business with those outside of the Empire, however Always acknowledged the Emperor, so seldom did anything to support the government. Generally annoying.
Isacadian Tribe- Present in the ancient Homeland, the Isacadians allied with the Ritzian tribe in 1735 BFT, and jointly moved to the ancient homeland. The Ritzian and Isacadian peoples have long stood by each other, even when the crown passed from the Ritzian to the Isacasian peoples. The Isacadian people are generally a cautious and diplomatic group, but fierce warriors when called to War. They are known for their fine arts, and are the best metal smiths in the Empire. Isacadian steel, tapestries, and sculptures are sought far and wide. Calculated.
Ritzian Tribe- Hasty, and Impetuous this tribe is known for their lack of diplomatic skills. Though their ideas are usually the best, their black and white view of like makes them, while, pure of heart, a tribe that is while respected, not always appreciated. Their skills, however have made them the most excellent military commanders, and first rate Theologians. Zealous.
Raugustian Tribe- known to be almost entirely pacifist, this good natured tribe is one which will rarely fight, even when attacked, preferring a pastoral lifestyle. This tribe is known for its pacifistic approach to religion, and focuses on being good natured, and doing good works. They can be remarkably stubborn, though, and while seen by some as being simple, have often astonished others with their deep and intellectual comments.
Dustinians are highly intelligent, and agrarian people, the Dustinians do well at most things they do. They are highly independent, and have a rebellious streak. They function on principles, and are known to sacrifice themselves, even needlessly, simply our of principle. Fierce fighters, they are known to make a comeback despite all odds. Determined and driven.
Malian The Malians were known for their loud drums, that carried over many miles. They often had loud drum concerts at night, much to the annoyance of their neighbours. They were a generally apathetic tribe, that only supported the first Empire in its dying days. When they, and Mikalians attacked the Dustinian people they did so with such viciousness, that even their allies were disgusted. The Dustinian counter attack left both the Mikalian and the Malian Tribes decimated.
Upper Mattian Tribe- The Upper and Lower Mattian Tribes bear no relation to each other. They are independent tribes, who happen to have the same name. The Northern Mattian Tribe Was present in the Eiterbien Empire’s new homeland. They quickly joined the Eiterbien Nation, however never acknowledged the Emperor. They are remarkably similar to the raugustian peoples, however have a real streak of what can only be called ‘puddleglumish.’ Frolicy and depressed.
Lower Matian Tribe- Stoic, and Spartan, This tribe has the fiercest warriors of all the eiterbiens. Their men Believe that Hard work and determination gets theem what they need. Their women are known to be fun-long, gentile, and virtuous. The Southern Matians avoid politics at all cost, and dedicate themselves to intilecual discipline. Disciplined.Slabian Tribe- This Tribe became part of the New Eiterbien homeland in BFT 660. They are a melancholy, but friendly tribe, who focused their efforts on diplomacy and relationship building within the nation. They are known to be encouraging, and driven to self-improvement. Melancholic.
